Street Art & Sustainability

The festival's events will simultaneously explore the practices, means and multiple forms through which street artists engage, question and address sustainability and their relationship to the communities in which they're created.

THE EVENT RACK #LJSAF Program

18:00 - 19:00 by Žmauc bar, Rimska 23

Julián Herreros: opening of mural "Ojo de agua"

"Ojo de Agua" (The Waterhole) is an interdisciplinary art project that invites deeper reflection on the meaning of water. Without it, there is no life, no tears, no flowers, no words, no knowledge. The moon rises and falls, and the tides of the sea move with it, the one outside and the one inside us. In a time of climate change and the grim pandemic afflicting our planet, the disease called greed, Julián Herreros Rivera invites us to recognise water as a life-giving force that must be treated with respect. Caring for water is caring for the heart of our existence; our future depends on our relationship with water. This is the second edition of the Ojo de Agua project, first held in Buenos Aires.
Julián Herreros is a composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist and who has studied classical flamenco guitar as well as music composition and production. Parallel to his musical career, he also works as a visual artist.

Merzuk (b. 2002) is a younger generation street artist who works mainly as a graffiti and mural painter, graphic designer and musician. He draws inspiration for his own artistic work from the urban environment and hip-hop culture.

Ljubljana Street Art Festival

Ljubljana Street Art festival je prvi festival sodobne ulične umetnosti v Sloveniji, zasnovan iz ljubezni do street art-a, grafitov in intervencij v javnem prostoru. Že tretje leto zapored povezuje mednarodno in lokalno - ulično, umetniško, aktivistično in akademsko sceno. Obiskovalke in obiskovalce spodbuja k aktivnemu branju ulic, obenem pa podpira mlade, še neuveljavljene generacije uličnih umetnic in umetnikov ter skrbi za svetlo prihodnost lokalnega street art okolja. Festival si prizadeva na edinstven način promovirati enega izmed najpomembnejših sodobnih umetniških gibanj 21. stoletja - ulično umetnost.

Osrednja tema letošnjega festivala je razmislek, kaj ustvarjalnosti ulične umetnosti dodajajo čas, arhiviranje in dokumentiranje.
